Our first BBQ competition was in Lynchburg, VA in September, 2003. We placed 6th in Briskets and 15th out of 25 teams over all. Not bad for our first trial.
Our second competition was in Danville, VA in May, 2004. We placed 7th in Briskets and 8th in Chickens. We were 13th out of 35 teams over all. Getting better.
Our third competition was in New Holland, PA in August 2004. We did not place in any of the categories yet finished 14th out of 55 teams. A very well run competition and we will be back.
Our fourth competition was back in Lynchburg, VA Sept.2004. This was our best showing yet. We came in first in Anything But with our smoked tenderloin. We also placed 3rd in ribs, 5th in pork and 8th in briskets. Overall, we were 5th place out of 27 teams. Not bad after our first year competing!
The fifth competition was in Shelby, NC in Nov. 2004. This was definitely the coldest competition we have cooked at. We placed 4th in ribs, and 24th out of 45 teams.
